XIBALBA
This book began in late 2020 with one intention: to evoke a feeling — what I describe as reverent humanization: seeing humanity in its most vulnerable and transcendent state. Inspired by Renaissance art and fantastical cinema, every photograph in this series was created in pursuit of that feeling. Photographed in the cenotes of the Yucatán Peninsula, these images exist in environments so surreal they scarcely feel real — yet every place, person, and photograph in this book is entirely authentic. No AI was used. Each image was meticulously planned, with some requiring months of preparation and dives exceeding 100 feet beneath the surface.
